An Undertaking for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS). It has as a principal objective to manage a portfolio of securities for the account of its shareholders. Each one of its shareholders holds an interest in a fraction of the fund, proportionally with the total number of shares issued by the open-end investment company. OEICs continually sell new shares to the public and redeem outstanding shares on demand, resulting in an increase or decrease of outstanding capital.
